Alba Adriatica is a small town on the Italian coast of the Adriatic Sea. It is situated in Abruzzo region in the central part of Italy. The twist of the Apennines separates the region from other parts of the country. This “separation” imparts special and charming peculiarity to Abruzzo – old traditions are carefully followed, ancient festivals are celebrated in the same way like it was centuries ago and local gastronomic delicacies are highly praised by gourmands. The region is a little way away from the beaten tourist tracks and this is very nice for those who seek beautiful, comfortable and quiet place for their vacation. Car rental in Alba Adriatica gives an excellent opportunity to make an individual acquaintance with this wonderful corner of Italy and to immerse in its sweet and relaxed charm.
It is hard to believe that not so long ago, by measures of geology, there was the sea where Alba Adriatica now stands. Adriatic waves once splashed near the very foothills, but the sea gradually retreated and the first settlements appeared on the marshy land. The Romans founded several military ports on the coast and one of them grew to become Alba Adriatica. Watch-towers were the first buildings there. After the railway station had been built in 1863 the town started to develop rapidly. Rich people built posh villas in and around the town, some of them survived until today. You can rent a car in Alba Adriatica and drive around to have a look at these beautiful mansions or maybe even stay in one of them as many were turned into hotels.
Population of Alba Adriatica is only 10,000 residents but in summer the number is increased five times as tourists arrive at the popular resort Val Vibrata. Local beaches are incredibly beautiful – aquamarine expanse of the sea, long ribbon of clean sand, lush multi-coloured vegetation and emerald foothills of the Apennines at the background. Val Vibrata is poetically called Spiaggia d’argento (the Silver Beach) because of lovely silvery shade of the sand.
If you are bored with lazy sunbathing you can use the service of car hire in Alba Adriatica and drive along the picturesque coast where you can find many cosy restaurants offering tasty local meals. The sea-front is a favourite place for roller-skating, bicycling and jogging. There is also a nice attraction park for tourists with kids. It is nice to be the master of your own time in this blessed, warm and friendly place. Car hire in Alba Adriatica will help to make your stay in this town memorable and rich in pleasant impressions.
