Many of those who travel to Kraków, Poland are surprised to see how large the city is. In fact, it is the second largest city in Poland. It is also one of the most interesting places to visit as there are many attractions to see. To get around the city easily, however, you should rent a car in Kraków. This is true for those coming to the city for business or for pleasure. There is public transportation, but it is very crowded and the language can be very difficult to understand if you are trying to read bus signs.
This city is simply a historic gem. The place to start when you want to see the best attractions is Old Town. Here you can see the Wawel Castle and the Kazimierz district. This district has a lot of Jewish history and heritage. For instance, the Remuh synagogue was built in 1557 and is a treasure itself. Visitors can see ancient vestments and much more. Next to it is its cemetery which was created in 1511.
Another unique district to visit is the Nowa Huta district. This district was constructed during the Communist Era. Its architecture is typical socialist with large bland buildings and green parks. If you drive to the Podgórze district, you can visit Schindler's Factory.
With your car rental in Kraków, you can drive to other wonderful places as well. For example, you can stroll down the Royal Way, see St. Florian's Gate, visit Planty, which is a large park surrounding Old Town, and enjoy any of the many cafes along the banks of the Vistula River.
All of this, and much more, is waiting for those who take advantage of car rentals in Kraków. History, great food, and friendly people...what else can you ask for?
