The city of Alicante is one of the most beautiful in the whole of Spain. Thousands of visitors come to this city every year and they all leave impressed with the many attractions available here. Many of those who have visited the city advise others to rent a car in Alicante as this is the best way to see all the sights.
One can fill a whole book on the attractions to be visited here. But, here are a few of those that you must see.
The entire family will enjoy the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Alicante (MACA), which used to be called Museo de la Asegurada. Visit Casa de La Asegurada, which was built in 1685 in the Baroque style. You can find this amazing site in Plaza de Santa María, where you can also see the Santa María Basilica.
One of the nicest squares you will find in the city is Plaza de Gabriel Miró. You may also want to see the gothic-style Santa Maria Church which dates back to 14th to 16th century.
If you use car rentals in Alicante, you can drive on your own nation's driver's license as long as it is printed in Roman letters (A, B, C, etc). If yours is not, you will need to obtain an International Driving Permit. Your license must have photo of you on it, too. You will also need to have proof of insurance (usually not a problem when you rent a car in Alicante) and the registration documents must be in the vehicle as well.
Spanish law also required that all vehicles have two warning triangles, replacement bulbs, and a reflective jacket. Companies offering car rentals in Alicante supply these items, but check for them anyway. Lastly, in Spain, drivers must stop if a pedestrian shows the palm of his hand.
If you keep the above in mind when using car rentals in Alicante you will be fine and be able to visit and enjoy all of the many wonderful sites this incredible city has to offer!
