Bentley's SUV!
On the car festival in the U.S. CEO of Bentley Wolfgang Dyurhaymer confirmed that the company is planning to release their first SUV. The luxury SUV will get a very powerful Bentley engine W12 and will get in Betley's garages in 2015.
Interestingly, that Bentley replaced their chief engineer: the place of Ulrich Eichhorn got a new man – Rolf Frechen. As noted, previously Rolf worked on the project Porsche Cayenne. Dyurhaymer himself convinced that the new model will be successful in the market: "I am absolutely sure about that. Ninety-nine percent of Bentley owners has an SUV in their garage" – explained the CEO.
Under the hood of the Bentley SUV will live a modernized unit W12. Most likely, we are talking about the next generation of family W12 Continental - the current 6.0-liter unit develops more than 620 hp. The main advantage of the W12 – is in its compactness- it is considerably shorter than V12. But in the crossover range of engines will also be a diesel V12, which will be borrowed from Audi.
