Film tourism in Italy gains popularity

More and more tourists in Italy become interested in “film sights”. Film tourism actively expands currently and Italy has a growing number tourists going there with the purpose of visiting shooting locations of their favourite films and series.
There are 100 million people in the world going in the wake of their favourite characters every year, and in Italy there are 10 million such tourists. There are 1 700 locations in Apennines, where famous films have been shot, and 41 million tourists make there a visit.
Filming has very good influence on travel industry. For example, after the release of film “Benvenuti al sud” (“Welcome to the South”), which was shot in Castellabate, tourist flow there grew up on 75% in a year.
Travel agencies long ago understood efficiency of such kind of tourism and have different tours on locations, where such films as “La Dolce Vita” by Federico Fellini, “Roman Holiday” with Audrey Hepburn, “Casanova”, “Angels & Demons” and “Twilight” have been shot.
Film shooting also gives great opportunity to earn money. If you afford your house as a shooting area for a film, series or even commercial, in the future you can draw income from renting it.
