At the end of this year 58.4 million foreign tourists may visit Spain (car rental Spain). This is 2.7% better than last year but still 800,000 less than in record-setting pre-crisis year 2007. This forecast was made based on two hardly predictable factors.
The issue is about, on one side, possible negative effects of the new EU program of budget and fiscal policy correction, aimed to negotiate Eurozone's debt crisis. On the other side, tourism development can be affected with the possible ending of the Arab Spring political tempest.
Income from foreign tourism in Spain last year was about €53 billion which is 8.1% more than during the same period in 2010. International tourist flow to Spain last year amounts to 56.9 million people which is also 8.1% more than the year before.
