  • Up vs. The World Record!

Hatchback Up!, the most compact Volkswagen car, has established an unofficial world record: in its salon calculated on four passengers, 16 persons have gone in at once.

15 women and one man! Two have taken a place in a luggage carrier, one on the instrument panel, seven on a back sofa, four on forward seats, two in the legs - and all it behind the closed doors and a luggage carrier cover.

Similar experiments have an old tradition: in 1950s was very popular to get crowd into street pay phones. Nevertheless, the pay phone won't be compared to Volkswagen Beetle – in Australia 17 friends tried to get in one car. In 2010 in Wilmore, the State of Kentucky (USA), 20 people have established a new record, having occupied a place of honor in the Guinness Book of Records. Naturally, experiments have proceeded and with New Beetle: its salon has successfully contained in itself at once 27 American students.
Volkswagen Up! has only 3,54 m length, 1,64 m width and 1,48 m in height. As it was informed, in sale the most compact model of Volkswagen will arrive in December.
