A well-known auction house RM has informed on tendering on sale of the oldest of cars - De Dion Bouton world et Trepardoux Dos-a-Dos that was made in... 1884. This car participated in the first car race of 1887, which was arranged by the French largest bicycle magazine - Le Velocipede.
De Dion was the only car, who finished the race. It is necessary to note, that even after 127 years since the construction – the car s in a good condition and can go under the own steam. Only 20 copies of De Dion have been made, and only six of them have survived up to now.
The auction to sell De Dion is planned for October, 6th. Organizers of auction plan to get for this car from 2 to 2,5 million dollars.
