Madrid-Barajas International Airport will be the first ever airport to launch a new system able to identify passengers' faces with the help of special 3D cameras.

This device is developed by the group of scientists from the King Juan Carlos University in cooperation with law-enforcement authorities. This system will make it possible not only to identify particular people in a crowd, comparing received images with police files' data, but to retrace passengers' movement inside the airport as well. This technology is based on three-dimensional imaging of passengers' faces, which are compared with a photo library on documents of identification. The system currently is being tested by developers together with a Security Service.

Madrid-Barajas Airport is one of the most beautiful airports in the world with a unique interior and exterior, located just in 13 km north-east from the capital of Spain. It is the main hub between Europe and Latin America having four terminals and wide range of shops and boutiques, cafes and restaurants, places of entertainment and car rental branches. Because of its close location to Madrid, it is very easy to go on excursion to this magnificent city with numerous tourist attractions.
