UK monthly automobile magazine What Car? and American global marketing information services company J.D Power & Associates conducted a research with the aim of finding out what the best cars in UK drivers' opinion are. As a result, Jaguar was declared a winner collecting 827 of 1,000 possible points.

There were 16,000 motorists interviewed who were supposed to estimate 116 car models produced from one to three years ago. These cars were estimated based on 66 criteria, which includes quality, design, comfort, price, fuel efficiency, brand awareness, cost and quality of service. Based on the data received, there was made an overall automobile brands and models satisfaction rating.

Except for Jaguar, there are such brands in the Top 5 as Lexus and Honda with 818 and 810 points respectively, Skoda and Mercedes-Benz. The average score of satisfaction rating equaled 776 points.

As researchers note, British brands essentially improved their positions in overall rating this year. It is related to the fact that local manufacturers had renewed their model ranges lately and improved the quality of service in maintenance centers.

As the key criteria when choosing the new car Brits mention its attraction – 31% respondents voted for it. Among other things, they are motivated by the cost of possession – 25%, quality and reliability – 22%.

There were also detected most irritating issues and faults of cars. Among most common adverse factors there are glass weeping, insufficiently fast heat system operation, the start-up of a motor issues fuel over consumption and other engine and transmission faults.
