    Hot Pic Title

As we informed earlier this year, the government of the Balearic Islands was planning to introduce a new environmental tax for 2013. It supposed to go into effect in April.

But it's June already and it still has not been confirmed that this tax has come to an effect, moreover, according to local car rental agencies, the Balearic Government has decided to postpone it until the end of the summer season. This is a wonderful news for those who planned to go on vacation and rent a car on the Balearic Islands but was confused with higher rental rates.

Recall that according to government plans, after the implementation of this tax there will be following amounts charged per rental day and also per driver for following emission levels: an amount of 3.00 EUR for emission levels up to 160g/km of CO2; an amount of 6.50 EUR for emission levels up to 200g/km of CO2; an amount of 7.50 EUR for emission levels up to 200g/km of CO2.

The Balearic archipelago is situated in the western Mediterranean Sea and is formed by the islands Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. These islands are known as a wonderful destination for summer vacation and are famous for their picturesque scenery, music festivals, architecture and beaches. The Balearic Islands is one of the most popular locations among those who rent a car in Spain.
