    Hot Pic Title

One of the most popular cars in the world – Volkswagen Golf – will get an electric version and will hit the market in 2013 under the name of E-Golf. It is quite possible that it will be based on the newest MQB platform and using concept car's Blue e-motion aggregates.

It is expected, that E-Golf will be fitted with the same engine unit as Blue-e-motion concept car, consisting of 115 hp electric motor and lithium-ion battery. The maximum speed of the new hatchback is expected to be the same as its prototype's – 140 km/h, it will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.8 seconds and will be able to drive about 150 km on one charge. Driver will have an opportunity to see how much energy is remained in order to charge his vehicle at proper time.

When Volkswagen engineers introduced MQB platform, on which Volkswagen 7 will be based, they mentioned that hybrid and electric versions could also be based on it. And now it became possible.

Volkswagen does not confirm Volkswagen 7 hybrid modification yet, but it may be because hybrid version of Jetta will hit the market very soon.
