    Hot Pic Title

The wheel disk made as a one piece detail of composite materials is developed in Australia. Developer – the Carbon Revolution company – states that this wheel is at least by half lighter than a common alloy wheel and the company is ready to start the mass production.

According to company, this first ever monolithic carbon wheel disk is the result of a decade-long research. This wheel is not only much lighter than common wheels, but meets all the necessary hardness and durability requirements imposed by European manufacturers as well. Thanks to material properties' optimization due to a continuity of fibers, carbon wheel disk may easily carry various operating loads.

Developer also assures that with these disks the fuel consumption of the car would be cut by 2-4% and will raise the aerodynamic efficiency by 5% or by 6% if the use of carbon wheel disks was taken into account in the developmental stage of the car.

Carbon Revolution prepares for the mass production 19-inch carbon wheel disks meant to be set to Porsche 911. The assortment of these disks may be increased in the future but their price is not known yet.
