According to Google, during the test period cars driven by the electronics did not have any accident. So company decided that test pilots will drive these cars not two at a time from now, but one at a time. Besides, in the near future self-driving cars are going to be tested on snow-covered roads and taught to recognize temporary road signs and traffic lights set on the repaired road sections.

Google's self-driving cars orientate over a distance based on data received with the use of special cameras, laser radars and a GPS system. Information on every specific road including traffic lanes, exact location of the traffic lights and road signs a system can download from the Google servers.

Such famous companies as Cadillac, BMW, Volkswagen, Volvo and Continental are currently working on their own autopilot systems as well.
