Spain is going to make changes to traffic rules by cutting down the maximum speed on minor roads from 100 kph to 90 kph any time soon.

According to the Ministry of Interior of Spain, these measures will be taken in order to reduce the risk of accident on the road situations happening.

As for highways and freeways, it is not known yet whether speed will be raised from 120 kph to 130 kph there. According to the results of the last year, more than thousand of people suffered traffic accidents on the minor roads in Spain. This is why it was decided to cut down the speed by 10 kph. Most of the Spanish accept this decision because they consider that 20 kph difference between highways and minor roads is unreasonable.
