It looks like Australia is one of the best world's places to live in, at least Melbourne was ranked the most liveable city in the world for the second year in a row.

During the Global Livability Survey conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit there were estimated 140 cities based on such factors of livability as social and political stability, accessible and qualitative health care, education, well-developed infrastructure, crime rate, variety of cultural events and natural environment.

As a result, the most represented countries by the number of cities in the list are Australia and Canada. At the top of the list there are medium cities with small population located in wealthy countries.

The list of most liveable cities in Europe tops Vienna, the capital of Austria (second overall), in Asia – Osaka in Japan (12th overall), then Tokyo and Hong Kong. The best city in the USA is surprisingly Honolulu (26th overall) and Pittsburgh (ranked 30th).

At the end of the list there are such cities as Abidjan, Teheran, Tripoli etc due to military conflicts in the countries where they are located.
