New Range Rover SUV is officially introduced

Land Rover company officially introduced the next generation of Range Rover SUV. It will make its public debut in September at the Paris Motor Show and thereafter British car manufacturer will start to accept orders on a new car.
New SUV is built on a new aluminum platform representing a modernized version of Jaguar XJ flagman sedan chassis. Range Rover received an aluminum body made completely of aluminum which is 39% lighter than a steel structure of its predecessor. In such a way, the SUV is 420 kg lighter at average depending on the market and equipment. For example, version with an atmospheric 5L V8 engine is about 318 kg lighter than the previous SUV.
Land Rover does not reveal details of boundary dimensions of the new car yet. It is only known that a wheel-base of the SUV became bigger and the rear passengers footroom was enlarged by 118 mm. Two separate rear seats can be purchased as well instead of a single seat.
Besides, there was a new air suspension made for Range Rover which, according to company representatives, provides more certain passing of turns and user-friendly steering gear. Terrain Response system was updated as well and got an automatic mode.
At first new Range Rover will hit the European market with three engines including modernized V8 with mechanical supercharger, 3L six-cylinder diesel engine and 4.4L V8 engine on a heavy fuel. All engines can be aggregated with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
