    Hot Pic Title

Peugeot announced that its new hybrid concept-supercar called Onyx will be introduced at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

However, famous automotive manufacturer from France has not revealed technical details of an upcoming car yet giving to the public just a name of it and several photos. Rumor has it that Peugeot Onyx will be fitted with a hybrid power-unit consisting of compact 1.6L turbocharged petrol engine and electric motor. This engine is going to be forced up to 250 hp and its aggregate output will make Onyx worthy of a supercar rank.

It is also known that hybrid power-unit will realize an all-wheel drive by the traditional Peugeot scheme: turbocharged engine will be in charge of rear axle and electric motor will set in motion front axle.

It is possible that supercar will be fitted with a mid-engine layout and active aerodynamic elements. It will be known only at the Paris Motor Show whether a new car will go into serial production but it is quite possible that Onyx is built only to demonstrate feasibilities of French hybrids.
