German automotive company Porsche plans to enlarge its model range with two new cars.

According to company representatives, under discussion currently is possible production start-up of so called Project 960 – heavy duty coupe fitted with V8 engine that develops 600 hp and undersized version of Panamera known as Pajun (Panamera Junior). These models should become rivals of Lamborghini and Ferrari cars.

Project 960 represents a two-seat super car with a V8 biturbo engine of 600 hp capacity. As for Pajun, it will be a four-door coupe, which design will be taken from Porsche Panamera. Serial production of this model is going to start already in 2016 or 2017.

In its turn compact roadster Project 551 will not be released after all. The production of this model is indefinitely postponed, although earlier Porsche wanted to introduce it in 2014. As Porsche representatives ironically say, the whole generation of their customers should be changed so small roadster could be positively perceived in a Porsche model range.

It stands to mention that extension of the Porsche model range is one of the main components of the company's 2018 strategy. According to plan, car manufacturer intends to sell up to 200.000 cars worldwide annually by this time.
