    Hot Pic Title

After abundant snowfall covered the Alps last week, now there is a sunny weather set in the Alpine region area. As a result, the ski season has already started on most of European and North American ski resorts.

There is a one meter high layer of snow in Austria at the moment and it is frosty enough to secure the great condition of downhill slopes for the entire season. Ischgl, Schladming and Tyrolean glaciers are already open as well as other areas acceptable to spend winter holidays.

Several Alpine resorts set snow records: there are 235 cm of snow in Val Thorens and about one and a half meters in Tin, France. Long-awaited snowfalls have started in Italy. About half of Dolomiti Superski resorts are already open and the best downhill skiing conditions – 1.2 m of snow – are in Arabba. There are more than 2 m of snow in Cervinia, besides cohesive chairlifts and tracks with Zermatt in Switzerland are open as well.

The first snow fell at Andorra resorts but there is not much of it though. The best ski conditions in Finland are still in Ruka and Levi. Oberstdorf and Garmisch are open in Germany and Bansko – in Bulgaria. Season has started on four resorts of five in Scotland and the recent snow has fallen in California, Colorado and Montana, as well as on most of ski resorts in Canada.
