  • There won't be endless queues at Heathrow airport anymore

Border control queues at London Heathrow Airport will be cut down in the nearest future after local authorities decided to arrange a separate line for citizens of those countries that Great Britain considers “the states with a minimal immigrant risk”.

In particular, these are travelers from Australia, Canada, Japan, USA and New Zealand: they don't need a visa to visit United Kingdom so the time, necessary to check their documents, is significantly less than to check documents of those people who arrive from other countries.

It is expected, that as a result of this innovation, 95% of European citizens will be served in less than 25 minutes, and citizens of other countries – less than 45 minutes.

This decision was made after numerous passengers complained, that it takes too much of their time to pass the border control. It may take you two hours of waiting in a queue to pass it.

This scheme has already been tested before but it will come into full force after 2012 London Summer Olympics.
