The famous Japanese brand Toyota once again became the most eco-friendly brand in the whole world. The car maker receives this title second year in a row thanks to its achievements in hybrid technologies and establishing a green reputation.

The list of the top 100 “greenest brands” is made by the major marketing consultancy Interbrand based mostly on measures taken by the companies for environmental protection and attitude of the society to a company's overall input to the environment.

According to a research, Toyota takes first place due to its leading position in a hybrid technologies area. By the way, since first ever production hybrid vehicle Toyota Prius appeared on the market in 1997, there had been sold more than 4 million Toyota and Lexus hybrid cars all over the world.

There are also such famous car manufacturers in the Top 10 as Honda, Volkswagen and BMW. Hyundai, Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Nissan hit the top 50 because of their investment in developing fuel-efficient and alternative fuel vehicles as well.
