  • Volkswagen Golf 7 is officially unveiled

    Sep 05, 2012, 10:20
    Hot Pic Title

One of the most anticipated cars of the year – Seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf – was officially introduced in Berlin Contemporary Art Gallery in the presence of thousands of guests. There were almost 30 million Golf cars manufactured since it hit the market in 1974 so it is small wonder that its seventh-generation draws so much attention.

Considered to be a worldwide best-seller, VW Golf 7 is equal to all expectations: it became faster, more fuel-efficient and, in fact, a little cheaper. New Golf is built on MQB modular platform, is longer, wider, lower and 100 kg lighter than the previous generation and has a roomier interior and trunk.

The car will be available with ten engines at choice, including three TSI engines, high-power GTI engine and the “hot” 290 hp Golf RS version is expected as well. Among the equipment of a car it is worth mentioning electric handbrake, steering wheel with variable force and five performance modes, adaptive suspension, electronic imitation of a front inter-wheel differential block system, adaptive cruise control, automatic parking sensors, all round video observation system and new multimedia devices with 5-8 inch screens.

VW Golf 7 will be introduced to the general public at the 2012 Paris Motor Show at the end of September and is expected to hit the European market at the end of this year.
