We were first in line, which has something to do with the speed with which we made it through. I am sure that the car was as advertised, but I was surprised at how little room we had. For four adults, it was a bit cramped, but we made it work. We had to place a deposit hold on a credit card fro the rental. They do not take the funds from your account, but will use the deposit to cover any accrued expenses such as the tunnel fees or other additionas added last minute (rather than part of the initial booking). Upon return, we got the invoice within a few days. It is not a cheap solution compared to other countries, but i recommend keeping in mind that the Faroe Islands in general are quite a bit more expensive than most of Europe.
